Many people are always complaining about their life even there are no reason to do so. Though there were no profits in complaining, I was also complaining about my routine work and insipid daily life. However, after I met morrie, I could take a cheerful view of life. The man who suffered from Lou Gehrigs disease taught me lots of meaningful teachings that I had forgotten in my life. I was also surprised at this book because This story is taken from real life.
This story begins with a teacher and a pupil's fateful encounter after twenty years' separation. A pupil named Mitch, was worn out by his busy life as a columnist. He was pressed for time in finishing his manuscript. He also lost his composure. He forgot his dream that he wanted to be a musician.
Then, One day he saw a TV program called 'nightline' and heard a familiar name "Morrie". He was greatly surprised at the name, Morrie. Suddenly, He remembered himself that he had promised with his college teacher, Morrie to visit his house after graduation. He didn't even know about Morrie's illness. He have just worked for his own benefits. He didn't want to know about his favorite teacher's life.
After watching 'nightline', He made an unscheduled visit to Morrie. When he arrived at Morrie's house, a man was being wheeled down the street. He saw Mitch and smiled at him. He was Morrie who is Mitch's the most favorite teacher. They met and hugged a few minutes.
Even if Morrie suffered from fatal disease and he had only a few months to live, He wasn't discouraged and miserable with his illness. He just bestowed loves to his friends and family, consulted about their worries, listened courteously about their saying and solved their problems. He also hailed an old friend, Mitch. From this, Morrie and Mitch's last instruction began. They met every Tuesdays and talked about human life; love, death, family, emotions, forgiveness.
Each time I turned a page, I reflected on myself. Also I thought myself, 'If I were in Morrie's position, could I act like Morrie?' He remained cool in his death and he did everything he could do. He gave his love to Mitch and helped him what to do.
I do want to meet teacher like Morrie. With this as a momentum, I could think human relations, forgiving myself and consideration. Also I realized that there was no worthless life in the world. I think I grow even more in emotion. A teacher to the last taught me a lot. I can't forget his teachings in my lifetime. The words that I am really impressed is
"What really gives you satisfaction is offering others what you have to give."
